Supercritical foam molding is a physical foam molding technology, but also a microcellular foam molding technology, the supercritical state of carbon dioxide or nitrogen gas instead of organic blowing agent, under a certain pressure, temperature, foaming process technology. This process has no formamide residue, odorless and non-toxic, with long-lasting protection for both consumers and producers, no cross-linking agent is used, and it can be melted and recycled, which is green and environmentally friendly.
Previously, we have sorted out the supercritical foam materials for shoe midsole, including EVA, TPU, TPE, PEBA, etc., in which some of them are molded with molding supercritical foam molding, and others are molded with kettle-pressing supercritical foam molding. And today we are finishing the supercritical sheet foam molding.
The characteristics of supercritical fluid sheet foaming technology are:
The faster diffusion rate and larger solubility of supercritical carbon dioxide in the polymer are fully utilized.
The polymer is in a semi-solid state during foaming and the molten zone allows the growth of vesicles, while the unmelted zone provides melt strength and maintains the vesicle structure.
Extremely rapid pressure relief induces the formation of very high nucleation rates, ensuring the formation of vesicle structures with micro- and nanometer sizes and high pore densities.
